With a growing student population, Bowie State University needed more space for co-eds to eat, study and, perhaps most importantly, embody and enhance student community on campus. Plans began for a brand new, 95,000 square feet, three-story student center. The completed, modern building features retail dining, student lounge spaces, a game room, multi-functional study spaces, a 250-seat theater, the campus bookstore, and an AYCE dining hall. Notably, this was the first building on campus to kick-off BSU’s sustainability commitment by meeting LEED Gold Certification standards.
With freshly prepared food, a variety of seating options, private dining areas, and beautiful views of the campus, this building has now become a vital hub of campus with the dining hall at the heart of it. It’s open kitchen concept and food demonstration areas create an inviting and enticing gathering spot within.
