The Center for Learning and Student Success at Lane Community College was long overdue for an update. The dated building, which served as the central hub on campus for over 50 years, was recently renovated to better serve today’s students. Eight independent retail venues provide students with endless dining options in one convenient location.

The Renaissance Room, a student-run restaurant, was also transformed into a realistic and dynamic 88-seat operation. Featuring modern equipment and contemporary design, the kitchen allows hands-on learning for culinary arts and hospitality management students. A large glass wall provides separation from the kitchen and dining room, but still allows for views into the kitchen. The student-prepared menu features ingredients from the college’s student managed Learning Garden and uses other local and sustainable products when available.
