Transforming the community experience for the future generations of Syracuse University students, the Schine Student Center is undergoing a significant renovation and addition project. The renovation focuses on physically opening the space creating a more welcoming epicenter of campus— in total adding over 8,500 SF devoted to student activities, dining, studying and lounging.
In the main dining area, a circular center platform will serve up burgers and BBQ on one side with made-to-order Asian-inspired meals on the other. A small retail marketplace will provide snacks and on-the-go convenience for busy students. Also included within the main ding is a familiar favorite, Panera Bread. Additionally, on the north side of the building, a Dunkin’ will supply students a steady stream of caffeine.
In a recent article**, Dolan Evanovich, Senior Vice President for Enrollment and the Student Experience, ardently states, “The renovation of the Schine Student Center will return it to a true student union—a place for our students to connect and experience the vibrancy of everything the Syracuse University campus offers. Whether students are coming here to eat, study, get involved or meet with friends, the upgraded and versatile spaces will undoubtedly enhance their experience.”
Construction is to begin in May 2019 with an expected open date of Fall 2020.
