The Ranch at Rock Creek Lodge
Quoting the Ranch at Rock Creek's Executive Chef, Josh Drage, "The culinary program is our flagship experience here at the Ranch." However, the originally built kitchen did not have that goal in mind—consequently lacking some aesthetic appeal for guests and functionally for kitchen staff.
The project Ricca Design Studios was hired to assist with a renovation and expansion of the Main Lodge kitchen. The project centered around a custom Jade cooking suite building an efficient a la carte cooking area. A proper expo area was also added. Features unique to the ranch included a butchery area adding space to breakdown Montana's famed red meats and a dedicated bakery space for crafting from-scratch confections. The expansion opened up the kitchen to accommodate more guests for in-kitchen cooking experiences, 10-course tasting dinners, and a catering capability for a variety of special events.
Now equipped with a new state-of-the-art kitchen, it has become a centerpiece for the guests' and kitchen staff alike. The ever-changing menus tell a story of Montana using food, showcasing items such as local grass-fed beef, freshly picked wildflowers, fresh Flathead cherries, and warm Dutch oven cobblers. The Ranch at Rock Creek's culinary project embodies the rest of the experience by offering the for the perfect blend of the wild west wrangled with a luxurious and modern twist.
