Ricca Design Studios’ culinary design in collaboration with Cooper Carry, made for a new culinary science center for Auburn University in the Southeast. Opened in 2022, the culinary science center prepares students for careers within the hospitality industry with hands-on learning opportunities and real-life experience through service to visitors of the facility’s restaurant, hotel, and food hall. Equipped with the latest technologies and resources, the center is an invaluable asset to an already impressive hospitality management program and allows students to compete in the global marketplace upon graduation. Included in the facility is a 32-room boutique teaching hotel; a 40-seat teaching restaurant; a 9,000 square-foot food hall; Wine Appreciation Center; Distilled Spirits Center; Brewing Science Laboratory; Coffee Roastery & Bar; Sky Garden, a rooftop garden producing food for use in the center; Culinary Exhibition Lab; and a Food and Beverage Media Studio.
