Inspired and named after a Walt Whitman poem expressing his love for New York, Danny Meyer’s newest restaurant is his own ode to the city. Set high above the Financial District up on the 60th floor, Manhatta combats expectations of traditional restaurants with a view by creating an intentionally informal and welcoming space with an approachable and affordable menu to match.
With north views spanning the length of Manhattan, and east peering over the bridge and into Brooklyn—Chef Jason Pfeifer still manages to steal the show with his delicious and unequivocal New Age American cuisine. The dinner menu offers a selection of six options per course to plan your adventure within the set $78 meal, including gratuity. The appetizers include scotch snails, foie gras mousse, and lobster quenelle. Main courses range from wagyu to turbot and dessert features seasonal fruit and rotating cheeses, plus sweeter options like date cake and vanilla souffle. The bar menu is an even more cost-effective option with a la carte ordering and additional items such as fried chicken bites and a French onion cheeseburger.
Complementing the public restaurant is the Bay Room, Union Hospitality Group’s first dedicated event space. With the ability to seat up to 800 people or smaller groups for a more intimate evening, the extraordinary space gives guests sweeping views of New York paired with great food for an unforgettable meal.
