Tony & Libba Rane Culinary Science Center
For the past three years, Ricca Design Studios' Phillip Landgraf, Principal, and Garret Sletten, Director, have been working closely with Auburn University and Cooper Carry to bring a new culinary science center to the campus. This first-of-its-kind building on the Auburn campus will become home for Hospitality Management students, truly raising the bar for an immersive and hands-on learning experience. Made possible by a generous donation from Auburn alumnus Jimmy Rane, the 142,000 SF complex will prepare students for careers within the hospitality industry through hands-on learning opportunities and real-life experience.
The unparalleled facility is so much more than just a learning and teaching center, though. Its unique elements include a luxury boutique hotel, a 46-seat full-service teaching restaurant, three culinary learning labs, a culinary exhibition laboratory, an outdoor market, micro-brewery, an 8-vendor food hall with incubator space available to Auburn students, an artisanal coffee roastery, a micro-distillery lab, and an organic rooftop garden. Set to open in the Fall of 2022, the Tony & Libba Rane Culinary Science Center will set the new standard for an elevated hospitality management learning experience and will provide a unique destination experience for the Auburn campus.
